The Story of Ann Cory Dodgson Dorsey – Part 1 – The Prettiest Girl in Town

Sunnyshore Studio is thrilled to release PART ONE of a documentary that tells the story of Ann Cory Dodgson Dorsey.

Part 1 – The Prettiest Girl in Town traces Ann’s roots, beginning with the story of her parents Sayre Cooney and Thomas Dodgson, how they met and married. We follow them to Utah where Doctor Tom worked in the mining camps, then Hiawatha, UT(where Margaret and Thomas “Bud” were born), then to Moroni, UT (where Robert and Ann were born).

It also tracks their return to Seattle and, in 1946, purchase of a farm on the south west side of Camano Island. There Tom “Doctor” Dodgson planned to raise eighteen raceshorses that he brought with him from Utah. Through historic videos shot by Doctor Dodgson and preserved by Robert Dodgson, we watch life on the farm, including the arrival of Ann’s beloved Grandma, Fanny Young Cory Cooney. The story ends when Ann is sixteen and the family moves to Stanwood to be closer to Doctor Dodgson’s practice.
