“Because the Meyer Art Center, which I serve as Executive Director, doesn’t have a building yet, we need to partner with local galleries to have art shows. Because I serve as Artistic Director of Sunnyshore Studio, it made sense to partner with the Meyer to host this opening,” says Jason Dorsey. “The future Meyer Art Center openings will be multi-faceted like the MatriArts show is, so this is a good pilot for us. Everything Sunnyshore Studio makes from this opening will be donated to the Meyer Art Center’s operations fund.”
Jason has long dreamed of an annual “Discover Beautiful Camano” art opening that tells the stories of people who live on and love Camano, and shares the art of the colony of artist who live here. This inaugural show is very personal. It shares the art and stories of his great grandmother, Fanny Y Cory, his grandmother, Sayre Dodgson, and his mother, Ann Cory Dodgson Dorsey.
