I’m thankful to share that a date is set for an exclusive screening of the We are Family documentary. It will be on Saturday, June 13th, at the Toby Theater, Newfields (Indianapolis Museum of Art). Through the generous support of sponsors we are able to show the documentary at the Toby, considered the finest theater in Indy for screenings. And through the generous donation of a supporter, we will be able to throw a big VIP party for the players and coaches; for the musicians and video artists who worked on the movie and for the major donors who helped make the movie possible. It will be fun to dress up and roll out the red carpet. I’m going to be asking some of my photographer friends to take pictures of it.

After the party we’ll show the movie. Wow, what an experience that will be. For one thing it’s long, almost 3 hours. I think it’s inspiring. But we’ll really get a feel for if the movie works and what changes we should make to it through the feedback of those who attend the screening. Honestly, I’m excited and nervous. I feel real good about the story and how it’s come together, but I don’t know how it will be received.

We’re over a year behind our original goal of March 2019 of having the movie done. It has been more work that I imagined, but all worth it; a labor of love. In future articles I’ll share about our sponsors and more information on the exclusive screening and VIP party. But for now I want to take a moment to look backwards, remember the journey that we have been on. I couldn’t have pulled this off without the support of so many friends, supporters and collaborators. Here’s a recap of our journey.

Want to Support the We are Family Project?

If you are interested in supporting this project through a donation that would be terrific. I have not been able to pay some of my musicians for their work. They have been gracious to donate their songs. I would still like to compensate them. We also have had extra costs due to our need to hire a lawyer, purchase film insurance, and purchase more original music because the film is longer than expected.

If you would like to make a donation to this project we would like to offer you the same rewards that we offered during the Kickstarter campaign.

A donation of 10$ gets the reward of a digital copy of the soundtrack.
