The Dorsey family of artists celebrated their patriarch’s 85th birthday with an art show featuring paintings of the Cascades by Jack and his sons Jason and Jed. It opened with a bang.
Lot’s of friends and family stopped by to visit with Jack and to purchase art. Nick and Nancy Sarver came from Kirkland. Nick played baseball with Jack at Lake Washington High School. So did Norm and Nancy Lang. Norm was a classmate of Jack’s wife Ann, and longtime friends. When Norm was in highschool and working in a lumber shop, he cut his finger bad. Ann’s dad, Doc Dodgson sewed up his finger. John Magill and his wife Suzy made the trek to the south end. John played baseball with Jason at Stanwood High School. Mark and Laura D’Urso drove up from Redmond. Laura and Jason were mentors together at Redmond Middle School years ago. The list of friends and family goes on and on, to many to list here. But we are so thankful for their support and friendship over the years.

Our Goal: A Check for Jack of $8,500
We sold a lot of artwork, both online and at our brick-and-mortar gallery. Every year our birthday goal for Jack’s art show is to get him a check of $100 for each of his years at the end of the show, so for his 85th birthday $8,500. So far Jack has made $5,286 in sales. He will be restocking his art for the second Saturday of the art show: Saturday, March 15. Thanks to everyone who helped us make progress towards our goal.
