Help The Meyer Art Center Dream Become Reality

On October 21, the Stanwood-Camano Art Advocacy Commission (SCAAC) held their annual meeting at Karla Matzke’s Gallery and Sculpture Park on Camano Island. A large crowd heard the exciting news about the future Meyer Art Center, and were invited to help make that dream a reality.

The board shared the dream of the Meyer Art Center (MAC). We envision the MAC will build community through art, catalyze economic flourishing, and anchor the creative district that the City of Stanwood is hoping to create in West Stanwood.

The board shared that the overall project wil cost 13 Million dollars. The breakdown of those costs can be seen below.

We have made terrific progress on reaching our goal! That night a couple pledged a major gift of 200K so we are over half way to our goal!

We shared that there are naming opportunities for major gifts. You can see these opportunities in the chart below. If you’d like to name a space in the Meyer Art Center please reach out to me, Jason Dorsey, 317.209.6768.

The board shared that we will not pull permits until we have raised/pledged 75% of the total. We need to raise 3.4 million dollars before we can get the ball rolling on starting to build the Meyer Art Center.

Here’s another way to look at Capital Campaign phase goals.

Finally, we shared with the crowd, and I’m sharing with you now, that we need you! Currently we are in need of people with the capacity to make major gifts. But there will be a time coming where we will ask everyone in our community to help us make the dream of the Meyer Art Center happen. In a future article I will share why I think that the Meyer Art Center is worth every last penny of 13 million dollars. Here are three ways that you can help us realize our dream.
