Jason and Jenny Dorsey have been hosting art shows on Camano Island since Sunnyshore Studio opened in 2016. But this will be the first time they’ve hosted a show at their home in Redmond.
“We are really excited to showcase the beautiful art of Nigerian artist Kesa Babatunde,” Jason says. Jason learned about Kesa through his sister Funmi who attends the church he pastors in Redmond. “We used Kesa’s art during our Advent services last year and I fell in love with it. It’s so colorful, deeply human, poignant,” Jason says.
“Funmi and I began talking about doing a show of her brothers work. We had some good meetings to get the ball rolling, and as the planning got more serious we got Jenny involved,” Jason says.
The art show is titled “Connections.” We have 12 of Kesa’s paintings, from large paintings to mid size and small paintings. “The price point will be great because we aren’t taking any commission from sales,” says Jason. “This is our way to give back and support a talented young artist and his sister.”
Connections opens with a reception on Friday, December 12, 6:00-9:00pm. “That will be lots of fun with appetizers and drinks and lots of people, and, maybe, a guest video appearance by Kesa,” Jason says. The in person show will continue on Saturday, December 13, 10am-6:00pm.

“There’s plenty of parking on 160th ave in front of our home,” Jason says. “We look forward to opening our home and sharing this beautiful artwork with our east side and Seattle friends. And if you can’t make the show, we will have the art posted and for sale on our online gallery as well.”
