In a previous post we shared that we would hold the Exclusive Screening of We are Family on Saturday, June 13. Then Covid-19 hit, and the country went into a lockdown. A few weeks ago we learned that Indiana was opening up on June 14, a day after we had the screening scheduled. The staff at the Toby Theater, Newfields (Indiana Museum of Art), had to cancel us on that date. We immediately began discussions about rescheduling. I asked if Saturday, September 19 would work. I requested that date because it is the same day as the Arsenal Tech alumni gathering and I thought there could be some good synergy between the two events. A couple of days ago I learned that Saturday, September 19 was open and immediately booked the theater. The Toby is considered the top theater in Indy for screenings. It holds 530 people. However, we’ll see how many we are allowed to attend due to social distancing requirements.
I am able to offer this exclusive screening to players, family, alumni and fans free of charge through generous sponsors. One anonymous sponsor is covering the 3K cost of the catering for the VIP party for players, select family, and artists who made the movie that takes place before the event. I’ve shared about two other sponsors: Elevate Indy and Young Life. I’ve got three more sponsors that I’ll share about in the weeks ahead that make this event possible. I’ll tell those stories later.
